The fact that you have to enable this feature in two completely different ways depending on whether you have enabled the Start menu or the Start screen is another good example of how incoherent the Windows 10 user interface is. If end users are not supposed to be bothered with administrative tools, why not also hide the PowerShell console? I have to admit, I don’t understand why Microsoft has hidden PowerShell ISE. In the Settings menu that pops up in the right sidebar, click Tiles. In Windows 10, you can just right-click the Start screen and then select Settings. In Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, you had to open the Charms menu for this purpose. If you enabled the Start screen, you have to change the tile settings. The answer was to go into the Local Group Policy Editor -> Local Computer Policy -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows PowerShell and double-click on Turn on Script Execution. If you prefer to start PowerShell ISE through the Start menu or Start screen, you have to enable the Show Administrative Tools feature. You can just right-click the Start button, launch the Control Panel from the WINX menu, and start typing “Administrative Tools.” In the Administrative Tools folders, you should be able to locate PowerShell ISE. However, if you just want to place the icon on your desktop, you don’t need this procedure. ![]()
